That one in glasses...

Joe has been feeling strong pains through his body. Flu, Zika, Dengue, depression, rheumatism, virus… Nothing! No physician could yet diagnosis Joe’s diseases, which was already consuming him to the point where his spirit begins. In fact he suspected by himself what it was about. The disease was the exteriorization, the scape, of his tired soul. Searching for a calm and dark place.
We are nothing more than smells, spaces and fluids. Where are we when something starts to hurt? Doesn’t matter. We don’t want to know. All that matters is to find something to heal this pain. The right medication. We just want to get into a lethargy state. Doesn’t matter where we walk through. We just want a refuge.
Day after day the monotony of the clock was the only Joe’s company. White cells, bacilli, Golgi Complex, all those things numbing his will. He was nothing less than a dark wheel, inhabited by veins, virus and bacteria. The soul fragmented through the way. Like a broken mirror. Seven years of bad lucky.
So, between one and another appointment he saw her. A common person, with a common face, but that made his face look like an everything-face, including a nothing-else face. She had a brown hair on her shoulders. She used glasses. A thick dark eyewear frame. The most beautiful smile he ever saw. He started to figure her in so many ways in his mind, trying to make she uninteresting to his eyes. With many different haircuts and colors. Blue, green, brown, yellow eyes, glasses eyes. Denture, tooth apparatus, no tooth. Dressed, undressed. Thin, fat. Her, only her. In all ways and forms that he would imagine her, couldn’t make her uninteresting. He even starts to sweat just to imagine to talk to her. Without realize that his sweat was nothing more than saline water.
Many days passed by and he never talked to her. Even he’s feeling already better, used to go to the clinic only to see her. Until she’s not appearing anymore. Another many days passed by and nothing about his beloved unknown. Then he finally asked someone there:

  • “Please, what happened with the lady that was ever around here, always in a good mood and smiling everyone?”
  • “Oh, the one in glasses?” - Answered the clinic attendant - “She died…”
