Welcome

It's been a little over a year since I came here. The memories are many. Yes, good memories. Our memories. Memories with friends. With mates. Even with Argus. This is a place where I always felt welcome. And where I know you'll always be welcome. Even back for a few days, you will always be welcome.
Let us go further into the past. Six years ago ... We had no idea how our lives would be today. Funny how things change a lot. How people come and go without us planning anything. You moved to another continent. I no longer live with who I lived at that time...

But we are still welcome in their homes. We left our marks. We made our stories. We conquer our rights. Even after all these changes. So always be welcome. Wherever it is. Whenever you go. You will always be welcome where I can receive you. Without being gay…

Bem-Vindo

Deixamos nossas marcas. Fizemos nossas histórias. Conquistamos nossos direitos. Mesmo depois de todas essas mudanças. Então seja sempre bem-vindo. Onde quer que seja. Quando quer que for. Será sempre bem-vindo onde eu puder lhe receber. Sem homosexualidades…

That one in glasses...

Joe has been feeling strong pains through his body. Flu, Zika, Dengue, depression, rheumatism, virus… Nothing! No physician could yet diagnosis Joe’s diseases, which was already consuming him to the point where his spirit begins. In fact he suspected by himself what it was about. The disease was the exteriorization, the scape, of his tired soul. Searching for a calm and dark place.
We are nothing more than smells, spaces and fluids. Where are we when something starts to hurt? Doesn’t matter. We don’t want to know. All that matters is to find something to heal this pain. The right medication. We just want to get into a lethargy state. Doesn’t matter where we walk through. We just want a refuge.
Day after day the monotony of the clock was the only Joe’s company. White cells, bacilli, Golgi Complex, all those things numbing his will. He was nothing less than a dark wheel, inhabited by veins, virus and bacteria. The soul fragmented through the way. Like a broken mirror. Seven years of bad lucky.
So, between one and another appointment he saw her. A common person, with a common face, but that made his face look like an everything-face, including a nothing-else face. She had a brown hair on her shoulders. She used glasses. A thick dark eyewear frame. The most beautiful smile he ever saw. He started to figure her in so many ways in his mind, trying to make she uninteresting to his eyes. With many different haircuts and colors. Blue, green, brown, yellow eyes, glasses eyes. Denture, tooth apparatus, no tooth. Dressed, undressed. Thin, fat. Her, only her. In all ways and forms that he would imagine her, couldn’t make her uninteresting. He even starts to sweat just to imagine to talk to her. Without realize that his sweat was nothing more than saline water.
Many days passed by and he never talked to her. Even he’s feeling already better, used to go to the clinic only to see her. Until she’s not appearing anymore. Another many days passed by and nothing about his beloved unknown. Then he finally asked someone there:

  • “Please, what happened with the lady that was ever around here, always in a good mood and smiling everyone?”
  • “Oh, the one in glasses?” - Answered the clinic attendant - “She died…”

Aquela de Óculos

Joe vinha sentindo dores fortíssimas pelo corpo ultimamente. Gripe, Zica, Dengue, depressão, reumatismo, virose… Nada!
Ela tinha cabelos castanhos, no ombro.
Então ele resolveu finalmente perguntar a alguém:

- “Faleceu…”

Sunflower

Clytie was a water nymph, in love for Apollo, which didn’t correspond for her love, and that’s made her languish. She used to stay all day long, set on the cold floor and her braids unleashed on her shoulders. For nine days she remained, without eating or drinking, feeding only with her own tears and with the icy dew. She contemplated the sun, from the time it rose up in the spring to hide in the sunset, after its daily course; She saw nothing else, her face was constantly turning to the sun. After all, it is said, her feet rooted to the ground and her face turned into a flower, which constantly moves on its stem, so that it is always facing the sun in its daily course, thus conserving the feeling of the nymph that gave origin to the flower.

Girassol

Echo

And your name will be echoing forever inside me...

Echo was a beautiful nymph, a lover of woods and mountains, where she devoted herself to rural distractions. She was Diana's favorite and was her company on her hunts. She had a flaw, though: she talked too much, and in every conversation or argument she always wanted to say the final word.
One day Juno was looking for her husband, who was rightly suspected that was amusing himself with the nymphs. Echo, with her conversation, did entertain the goddess, until the nymphs fled. Realizing this, Juno condemned her in the following words:
- You will only keep the use of that language with which you eluded me for something that you like so much: Reply. You will always say the last word, but you will never be able to speak in the first place.
A few days later the nymph saw Narcissus, a handsome young man, chasing the mountain hunt. She fell in love with him and followed him. How much she wanted to speak to him, to say him kind words and to win his affection! This, however, was out of her reach. She waited impatiently for him to speak first, so that she could respond. One day the young man, having separated himself from his companions, shouted aloud:
- Is anyone here?
"Here," echoed Echo.
Narciso looked around and saw no one, shouted:
- Come!
- Come! Replied Eco.
- Why do you run away from me? Narciso asked.
Eco replied with the same question - Why do you run away from me?
"Let's get together," the young man said.
The nymph repeated the same words with all the ardor and ran to Narcissus, ready to throw herself into his arms.
- Get away! Exclaimed the young man, backing away. "I'd rather die than let you own me!"
"Own me," said Eco.
But all was in vain. Narcissus fled and she went to hide her shame in the recess of the woods. From that day on, she lived in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. In sorrow, her body languished until the flesh disappeared completely. Her bones turned into stone, and nothing more remained, only her voice. And yet, she's still willing to respond to anyone who calls her. Retaining the old habit of always saying the last word.

Eco

- Afasta-te! - Exclamou o jovem, recuando. - Prefiro morrer a te deixar possuir-me!
- Possuir-me - disse Eco.

The boy Felipe

I heard this history in one CD of Father Airton Freire, from Fundação Terra. It’s one of the gifts that I always receive together with the bills that we use to do donations for this foundation. The track name is exactly that, “Felipe”.

Felipe

And so happened that in the end of June, was, myself, standing around 15Km from Arcoverde, Felipe came.
- It wasn't possible that kid had arrived here! - That was my first thought.
The place has nothing. No car was arrived. It was around the ninth hour, 15 o'clock. The time when there's beginning the mercy asking, in the time of our Lord. He had his feet bleeding and scared eyes. A children with a weak body, figured by the hungry. He was using only a red color shorts.
My biggest concern was that Felipe was only seven years old. I asked him:
- Felipe, how did you get here?
- On feet...
- Who came with you?
- I came Alone...
- What time did you get out from your home?
- Very early... It was still dark.
- Did you already eat today?
- No. Nothing...
- What did you come to do here?
- I came only to be near you...
- "Estrupiado"?
- Yeap...

"Estrupiado" is a word used in the Sertão of Pernambuco (desert region from state of Pernambuco) that means that, for had walked so much, you’re so hurt that you can't walk anymore.
I put Felipe on my arms. The blood footprints were in the floor. I shed water, vinegar and salt on his feet and yet he didn't cry.
Once he had fed, we covered the floor with a towel and he, who could no longer walk, stood silent, watching. He looked at me with eyes wide opened, as if waiting to be reproached.
I got closer to him. And looking right into his eyes I told him:
- Felipe, I, your Father, love you.
He, after heard me say that three times, collapsed in tears as he was feeling a great relief or pain. He which didn't cry even in his strength limit, couldn't hold himself there. After walking kilometers, Felipe received as reward the embrace of the Father. And from Himself heard the confession "I love you.". After bleeding, could not hold on himself and cried.
What didn't make he cry by bleeding his feet, made he cry inside his heart. Son trust. Paternal welcome. Felipe, almost seven years old. Felipe, from today and on, I will watch over you!

Felipe

Eu lhe perguntei:
  • Felipe, como tu chegaste aqui?
  • A pés…
  • Com quem vieste?
  • Só…
  • A que horas saiste de lá?
  • Cedinho… Ainda com o escuro.
  • Já comeste hoje?
  • Não. Nadinha…
  • O que vieste fazer aqui?
  • Vim só para ficar perto do senhor…
  • Estrupiado?

Aproximei-me dele.

The Cage

"My land has palm trees / Where the thrush sings...". But the thrush sings no more. All that left was an empty cage. The little jar with some water dirty with few grains of
birdseed and little feathers on the surface. A piece of wet bread left at the cage's corner. The still perch and the silence surrounding this scene. A so big empty as the empty
left in this cage.

We use to sing together. I started and you followed me.

Now I keep imagining if one day you ever knew how is the feeling of a long flight. To don't have space limitations imposed by those small bars. How we're unfair and selfish
persons to private a being, which has in its nature to be free, to know this freedom. Now I know that you're free. Not how I expected, but I hope you're happy wherever you are.
Singing another songs. I hope you remember me...

Gaiola

alpiste e pequenas penas boiando.

Cantando outras
canções. Espero que lembrando de mim...

The Last Crusade

The Last Crusade by Guzma
The Last Crusade, a photo by Guzma on Flickr.

x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

A new crusade is about to begin. Perhaps my last and final. With my hands tied I feel the wind blowing in my face. There wasn't a chill wind. There was a hot wind as if it had come straight from the open doors of hell. The way is now shrouded in mystery. Far from being understood. Maybe it's better not really understand it. Some parts just do not fit... As do I. A lost peace waiting to find some place in this pluzze to fit in. An unkown...
Far from my home, my city, the challenge that came on my path brings with it a pile of bodies just waiting me to join them. The silence shrouds the city like a terrible ritual. Distant cries of mothers burying their sons and daughters. Murdered, mutilated, raped... A mosaic of light and crimes. Lost promises of justice for them.
And against all dangers and enemies only one thing brings me peace is still be able to look at the stars in the night sky with no clouds. That's my only consolation. Everything will be done, safe or not, good or bad is all quiet at the end. Because there in the stars all is calm... It's, after all, where will all the innocents go...

Sempre ao seu lado...

Sempre ao seu lado... by Guzma
Sempre ao seu lado..., a photo by Guzma on Flickr.

Anatomically the apes are the animals that most resembles to the man. The genetic difference between our friends apes and we humans is about 1.5% only. But I always believed that dogs tend to have a soul closer to ours. O.o Ohhh Call me a heretic, you will, after all, animals have no soul! As I told I prefer to believe that they have, after all some of their behaviors show strongly this. Hillary had a couple of Labradors,
Peggy and Ruppe. There weren't brothers. Ruppe had almost the same age as Peggy. If not, about three months of difference. Peggy had been found abandoned under a bridge near her house, next to the margin of the frozen river. Shivered. Weak from hunger and thirst, Hillary took Peggy in her arms and carried her home where she took care of the little dying puppy.
They grew up together and during that time were nurturing a kind of relationship that once I knew only in humans (and perhaps speaking, dolphins). That was love. Ruppe showed no interest in other dogs in the region, contesting paradigm of the "alpha male instinct" - The purpose of the male of every species is only procreation. I always thought it a good excuse to stay with more than one woman... But that dog has proved to me that when you have an unconditional love, even the most primitive instincts can't twist you. Sadly Peggy was born with (or developed) a problem that prevented her to have puppies and in the future would bring her a cancer that would lead to her death.
In her last days I've been around and I could see that these animals are not just instincts. These creatures feel much beyond that. They feel sad, happy, love, hate, they have feelings that go beyond instincts. Feelings that leads to a soul. Ruppe has spent almost a whole month next to his lover, trying to somehow lessen the Peggy’s pain by the tumor that was destroying her body. And be sure that your dog cries. Yes, he cry with tears. Many times I saw tears in the black eyes of Ruppe. Many times I caressed Peggy and somehow I could feel the pain of Ruppe.
When Peggy died we made a little grave in the Hillary's backyard. Ruppe is still alive. I believe that all the affection he gets from Hillary has a big contribution to this, despite the emptiness that I know that took his life. She says that even today he spends all afternoon next to the site where his loved one is lying. I believe that because the fact that there are several reports of dogs that remain in the place where their owners were buried throughout the rest of their lives. This is not instinct. This attitude isn't from an irrational being without a soul. That emotion is pure and simple. Something that only a soul can create. Hillary told me will be by Peggy's side that, with much pain, he will be buried someday. This reminds me the movie "Hachiko: A Dog's Story"...

White Tulips

White Tulips by soundingblue
White Tulips, a photo by soundingblue on Flickr.

Five years had already passed and Tom didn't still have mark his marriage with Barbara. They were together for twelve years. Seven years dating and five years engaged. While that Barbara was only watching all her friends marriage and building their families. And after five years of waiting just seems that each day more going getting worst. So on a usual Sunday morning of that April, Tom woke up and found on the desk beside his bed a bouquet of white tulips over a letter where was wrote:
"Dear Tom,
God knows how much I love you, but also knows that I can't wait far more to we can marry. I know that I can't blame you. You have your reasons. You want to get better structured to give us a life with comfort. In fact I don't matter about it, my unique wish was to start a family with you, even inside a simple house, but that would be our home.
Five years ago we went engaged and I discovered myself with cancer. I didn't want to tell you afraid that it could influence some decision because of my situation. I know that is foolishness, but you know me well. I would thought that we would be marriage just because of my cancer. I started a treatment in secret, but doctors told me that hardly I would change my situation. I waited anxiously for five years to we may stay together. spending the time that left me with my family would be my last and final realization. Than I would die happy.
Recently I discovered that I have nothing more then a month of life. Because of that I can't wait too long to realize some things before I leave. I hope you understand and forgive me in not doing that by your side. I wish, believe me, have you next to me those days that remain me, but I haven't courage to put you in that situation. See me dying like this. Also forgive me in haven't no courage to speak you what is written here.
I'm leaving to Spain. Yes, the place where we were planing to spend our Honey-Moon. I really wished that was that situation... Our Honey-Moon. Watch the sunrise on the Mediterranean, visit the Moorish castles at Grenade, its cathedrals and monasteries. The palaces of Madrid and Barcelona Churches. But don't worry, I'll take you in my heart for all these moments.
Here I say goodbye my beloved, with just two little wishes. Live intensely all the days of your life. Don't wait the ideal or better circumstance to do things that you wish to. Life can be too short for waits. And last, don't make your next girl wait for so long. If you love her, marry and build your family. If you don't think that she's the right one, don't hold her. Let she leave and follow your way, pursuit your happiness, because you'll just find it, if it's mutual.
With all my love...
Barbara"

O Chasco sobre uma perna

Wheatear on one leg by roychurchill
Wheatear on one leg, a photo by roychurchill on Flickr.

x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

One day long ago when I was in Spain, Mallorca, visiting the family of an ex-girlfriend, that was for the first time, at least that I remember, I saw a bird stood on only one of its little leg. It was a small Black Wheatear. It was on a large copper pipe that carrying water to the city. The house where I was kept a few kilometers from the city and the water pipe going inside the property.
I remembered a story of Mickey Mouse, on the Mickey's magazine story number s79172, published in 1983, where he and Goofy went to an island together with Prof. Ptarwin to help him to prove his theory about the three-legged stork. He said the birds had learned to be able to stand on one leg because of an prehistoric ancestor bird with three legs. The island had many exotic creatures, but they possessed only one unique photo tape and could not waste it with other pictures, but with the three-legged stork. Unfortunately the Prof. failed to prove his theory, since in way back to home photo tape falls into the sea.
In one side wasn't their fault, because giant carnivorous plants eat the other cameras, leaving them with just one, but it was still a poorly trip planning. More then one photo tape pack should have been taken, not just the ones in the cameras. More cameras should also have stayed on the boat. Sure, there's the issue about the high purchase cost of these cameras. At that time they weren't cheap.
It's like the two legs of a bird. One serves as a backup to the other. Even when a moronic chit ties a string on one of the little legs of a bird, using as a lame excuse that "sparrows eat the eggs of other birds" and when the bird flies pulls the rope pulling its leg, the remained leg sup bird's basic need. That isn't either any little excuse to do such stupid act.
A bird standing on one leg on top of a copper pipe through which water passes shows us that we should try to always have a backup plan for our actions and decisions. If any moronic pull off you leg that is attached to the string, you can rely on the one that left to pursue your goal!

Craziness, isn't it?

Pequena Flôr Azul

Quinta Flower 28 by Mááh :)
Quinta Flower 28 a photo by Mááh :) on Flickr.
Que me dê presentes caros e me tire desse lugar infeliz! Nunca vai me dar o que eu preciso!
Lá, no escuro, pequena, apagada.

Mr. Anthony lived in the very middle of driest region at Northeast region. If someone traced a bisector line (these complicated doctor things), the center of it should be there, Mr. Anthony little county house. Near to his little house grew a quite uncommon flower for the region. It was blue. A small blue flower that grew between the pebbles, close to the dry trunk of an Umbu tree.
Nobody knew what kind of flower was it and how it grew in a such dry and hard environment. Even some scientists from the big city once were there to try identify the flower, but they came back without answers. But all this didn't matter for Mr. Anthony and his son, Tarcisius. All they needed to know about that little flower was that it grew by 5 to 5 years and it was the most beautiful thing that they knew in the middle of that dry region. Doesn't matter to wait five more years just to see that beauty.
The oldest people of the region even believed that the little flower was the little Izabel, the younger Mr. Anthony daughter, whose died there, by a snakebite. The day she died, was wearing a white dress, decorated with small blue flowers. It was her favorite dress.
Five years had already passed and that morning Tarcisius took courage and decided to ask Rosie in dating. Humble guy with no possessions, all he could offer was the small and special blue flower. He had asking permission to Mr. Anthony to take the little flower. Took a shower and perfumed with a little lavender water. He put on his best clothes, those he only used to wear in the Mass, and went to the dry umbu tree trunk to remove the small blue flower. He felt a strong tightness in the chest when you took the flower from there. "But it's for good reason - he thought.
It was about 5 miles to the Rosie's house and Tarcisius carried the flower by the way very carefully. It was night when he arrived at the gate of the house of Rosie. The sky was clear and the moonlight made the little blue flower even more beautiful. Although dark, the little blue flower seemed even more alive and intense. - Rosie, come here! I have a gift for you! - Tarcisius shouted outside the gate.
Rosie was the prettiest girl in the small town of Nantu. But in addition to be a beautiful girl she was also very ambitious. She didn't want to grow old and remain in that forgotten city. She wanted to go to the big city. Make a life there. Being someone. Rosie wasn't even a virgin anymore. She had date with a scientist at the city when they came searching for anything about dinosaurs. Come off it... An animal that had died a such time ago, puf!
Tarcisius wasn't what could be called an example of ambition. His simplicity and kindness bordered on naivety. The farthest he had ever been from his home was in Custodia, to a wedding of a cousin. Apart that he was conformed to sell cheese and brown sugar, made together with his father, on market days.
Rosie walked to the gate, searching for what Tarcisius brought to her. "Shall be a dress, a necklace, a bracellet...?" - A sort of gifts passed through the mind of Rosie, but none of them fit within what Tarcisio hid in his hands. Tarcisius, then, held the little flower for Rosie as she approached the gate. He outlined a shy smile as he nervous mumbled something:
- I do-o k-k-know that it i-is simp-ple, bu-but...
Rosie's face started to transform. The half-smile became into an expressionless mouth. Her eyes clenched and she crossed her arms - Tarcisius, you really think that I'm a woman for a loser like you, who thinks life is all about to sell brown sugar in a place doomed to the forgotten where you live? A wretch like you coming to deliver this ridiculous little flower, that can't even give me a bouquet of roses, who can say about get me off through this life! I need a real man! A one that gives me expensive gifts and get me out of this unhappy place! You're too little for me! Never gonna give me what I need!
Concluding that last sentence the little blue flower was falling, floating to the barren dirt ground. There, in the dark, small, unlit. When the sun dawned, strong, the little flower went burned on a few moments. Tarcisius didn't sleep at home that day. Actually he even did get home. That morning his father found strange his son lack early morning when they should went to the small barn milking the cows to make cheese. He went in his room and didn't find him. Looked for him in corner of the house. Tarcisius had no habit of doing that. Come off it... sleeping away from home! Mr. Anthony looked for him inside the dry wood when at the edge of the path he found the boot your son. He would recognize those boots anywhere. His heart sank. He was afraid of what to be found, but had to go there.
Tarcisius, in the dark, running into teh dry woods with eyes full of tears had stumbled onto a stick and hit his head on a stone. He died right there. Alone in the dark in middle of the Caatinga. When Mr. Anthony turned his body, saw his eyes still wet. His tears now were mixed with the dry land on his face and together with his father's tears, holding that lifeless body.
The small blue flower stopped rising at the land of Mr. Anthony, but people say, there where the boy Tarcisius died, now grows another blue flower. But not in a warm and vivid blue as was the other one. This flower had a cold and sad blue. And unlike the others, remained closed during the day, only blooming at night.

O Pier...

Pensativo...
Upload feito originalmente por Guzma
Adriano sempre fora uma criança curiosa. Ansiosa por descobrir coisas, novos caminhos e lugares. Tinha cabelos loiros e cacheados.
Ana Beatriz sobressalta do sofá.

Hadrian had always been a curious child. Eager to discover things, new paths and places. He had a curly blond hair. His eyes had a dull green, causing a lovely color effect by the light. He and his parents lived in a small village near the city of Koza. Their house belonged to his grandfather, who died in World War II defending the homeland against the German invasion. A little far of the house was the Sot' River, where the village children used to play, giving dips to the river pier.
But Hadrian was only 5 years old and his mother, Anne Beatrice, wouldn't let him play on the pier with the other children. And rightly so! The boys that used to jump out of that pier had over twelve years of age and the vast majority went there even hidden from parents. Those two reasons were more than enough for the ban of the kid's play, although Hadrian, as a child didn't understand or accept why he couldn't play with other children.
It was a beautiful spring day and all the boys from the village had gone to the pier. Almost everyone. Hadrian was at home watching the kids, through his window, run out toward river.
- Mom, can I go play with the other kids at the pier? - Asked Adrian.
- You know that the answer is no, son! It is dangerous - his mother said.
- But the day is so beautiful... - Hadrian eyes were almost filled with tears to replicate her answer. That broke the heart of Anne Beatrice, but she couldn't falter or demonstrate how she felt bad for not letting him go.
And in that beautiful spring morning Hadrian decided don't accept such prohibition. He took advantage of the distraction of his mother who was talking with her neighbor, Natasha, to slip through the open door. He ran like if he was being chased by Mr. Yuri Rottweilers, waiting to hear the voice of his mother call him back anytime. But he didn't hear anything and when he realized, he was already in pier.
Hadrian watched smiling the children jumping into the water and cheered when Hugo made a pirouette in the air, falling into a straight dive. All those laughs, screams, pirouettes and water spread was increasing more and more his will to also give a big leap into the River. Don't took long time to her curiosity overcoming the obey to his mother and the fear of doing something wrong.
The small Hadrian decided to go there. He looked one way and another all suspicious, sure about do something he should not. And then, right after the jump Rudolph, ran and jumped like crazy! Between the laughter, shouts and banter of the other kids, nobody noticed the little boy sank. He couldn't scream for help, because every time he opened his mouth the water entered and his voice choked. Struggled trying to keep him self emerged, but no one was bragging about that. At least everybody was struggling all up and throwing water on all sides.
The night was coming and the whole village was looking for the small Hadrian. Anne Beatrice couldn't stop to cry and think the worst. She knew that would probably never return to find her little Hadrian alive, but as nothing was certain, was hoping of seeing him through the door, in the arms of his father and that all was nothing but a big nightmare. That her son had lost the time in the middle of fun or had lost the way home because he picked a road similar to the one he used to take.
In the next morning someone knocks on your door. Anne Beatrice startled from the couch. She didn't sleep, thinking about her child out there unprotected in the cold night. The steps, eight steps, to the door seem endless. At each step the only image that she were able to perform was of her son, standing there, all dirty, but it didn't matter. All that mattered was having that little being stopped at her door.
She Opened the door there was a well-dressed man with a gray beard and holding a large Gray Death Eater hat under his left arm. Nothing more was required to speak. Anne Beatrice felt all the strength in her legs go out. Gone on her knees crying compulsively. Behind she, her husband watched the scene astonished when the man said:
- They found the body of a child floating in Koza.
